Yoann Gourcuff wants Atletico Madrid move
Yoann Gourcuff, who continues to be linked with a move to Arsenal, reportedly wants to join Atletico Madrid should he leave Lyon this week.
Gourcuff has been linked with Arsenal for some time and the Gunners are believed to have failed with a bid to sign the France international last year.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas recently stated that the 26-year-old could be sold during this month’s transfer window as the cash-strapped Ligue 1 club look to raise funds through player sales, and Gourcuff’s agent last week confirmed he was aware of interest from Spain.
And according to El Mundo Deportivo, the midfielder is keen on moving to the Vicente Calderon.
According to the report coming out of Spain, Atletico are keen on taking Gourcuff on loan this week until the end of the season, before deciding whether to make the move permanent.
But the terms of the deal appear to be a sticking point for Lyon, who are demanding a €3million loan fee
Nikola Franco had last week told L’Equipe: “Atletico are interested in Yoann Gourcuff, but the club will not discuss a loan fee with Lyon.
“The only solution that is able to be considered is a free loan to Madrid with the option to buy at the end of the season.”
